Construction Begins on Pool Excavation at the Bob Crane Community Center
Construction at the Bob Crane Community Center is in full swing, with teams making significant progress on several areas of the facility. One of the most exciting developments is the beginning of the process to dig out the swimming pool, which will be a central feature of the 155,000 square foot building.
The pool is set to include a variety of amenities, such as a water slide, lap lanes, and a dedicated play area for kids – located right off the main lobby. This addition promises to provide a fun and refreshing escape for community members of all ages.
In addition to the pool, work is also underway to install windows throughout the building. These windows will not only bring in natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere, but also offering views of the Kingsdale Shopping Center and that of downtown Columbus, enhancing the overall experience for visitors on every floor.
Another significant aspect of the construction progress is the installation of support beams for the indoor walking and running track. This feature is located on the 5th floor, running above the multipurpose gym, that will allow ample space for to engage in physical activity.
The Bob Crane Community Center is poised to become a hub for recreation, fitness, and community engagement in Upper Arlington. Construction is tentatively expected to be completed by the spring of 2025.
